Bratti signage undertook the design and manufacturing of signage at Olympic Marine in Lavrio, creating a comprehensive wayfinding and information signage system that is fully tailored to the demanding needs of the marina and its unique environmental conditions.
Innovative Design
The signage concept was inspired by the distinctive sail shape of sailing yachts, which was incorporated into the marina’s pylons. The specialized Design & Study Signage Team at bratti signage developed a concept design that enhanced the marina’s visual identity, while also creating a direct visual connection between the signage and the floating vessels docking at the piers.
Durability in Marine Conditions
One of the biggest technical challenges we faced was the direct exposure of the signs to seawater. The Design and Production Departments of bratti signage worked closely together to ensure the best possible outcome for our client.
A large number of signs were placed on floating piers, which are essentially concrete structures submerged in water, as well as along the marina walkways. Our goal was to create high-quality signage that provides maximum visibility and guidance for vessels even before they reach their designated berthing positions.
To ensure the signs’ resistance to the demanding marine environment, we used:
✅ Anodized aluminum, protecting against seawater corrosion
✅ Electrostatic coating, for additional durability
✅ Specialized screws and fittings, designed to withstand constant exposure to water
✅ Pylon structures made from anodized aluminum, ensuring both lightweight and robust construction with long-term durability
Illuminated Signage & Concept Consistency
All directional signs were designed as illuminated, self-lit signage, ensuring optimal nighttime visibility and providing enhanced safety for marina vessels.
The building-mounted signs are non-illuminated, maintaining visual harmony with the overall signage design of the marina.
Additionally, we pre-designed the future signage placements for companies and stores leasing spaces within the marina, creating a uniform and cohesive visual identity across the entire site.
